Peggy Calhoun is a passionate, enthusiastic, and driven fundraiser. Among the first to receive the ACFRE designation, the highest level bestowed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), she has spent more than 25 years helping organizations achieve their fundraising potential.
These days, some of her favorite projects are capital campaigns. I sense that Peggy is never quite content with a project until she sees it completed and this is exactly how she talks about campaigns.
In this interview, Peggy share the pitfalls that stall many capital campaigns and how prospect identification plays an important role in the public phase — and right down to the last gifts to make goal.
She also shares her wisdom and insights about how to master the donor relationships where the magic of philanthropy comes alive. This includes after the donor makes their campaign commitment with a multitude of ways to continue to bring the donor the joy of that gift over and over.
